Simply THE best! From the food to the staff, it’s an all around incredible experience! I’ve been going to Fred’s since 2009 at their Richardson location and was saddened upon the discovery of their closure. Until recently moving back to TX from NY, I realized that Fred’s had expanded and was once again able to have a cheesesteak that surpassed the ones I had from Philly (Pat’s & Geno’s).

I heard rave reviews about this restaurant and it did not disappoint. The Philly cheesesteaks were delicious as well as their seasoned fries. Also the customer service is remarkable not to mention the reasonable fries ,very deserving of the five stars. I definitely plan to return to try out other items.
Pretty solid cheesesteak place! The meat is of good quality, the bread is nice and soft, and they have a lot of sandwich choices and a good variety of sides. Plus some snacks that are regional like chips and candies that you can’t find around here that makes the experience feel more “real”. This place has an institution and been here forever, but their quality remains the same unlike some other long-standing places. Good job.
The phillys is great and is my husbands go to. But the shrimp po boy is outstanding!!! Might have to make that a weekend must have. Also love that they have Utz crab chips. Moved from the easy coast and seems to be the only place I can find them here.
One of my favorite places to get a cheese steak sandwich. Simple place, extensive menu. By all means, be sure to try the toothpicks. They are fried onion sticks, with the most perfect batter you've ever tried.
