Roeleen Wessels was admitted to Pletterberg Bay MC with a broken arn, while hiking on the OTTER. We received constant information from Anita and Dr Volgraaf at the ER and was admitted to ward A12 The Sraff was all very helpful and concerned to make my stay comfortable and with minimal pain. Nadine made sure I did not loose my sentimental jewelery- Thank you. Sister Elmarie and her Team of Stella, Rosie and Felicity did their best to get me ready and sorted for the Operation to my arm. Dr Van Vuuren put me to sleep without my even 'counting... Dr Marais assured me my wrist will be in working order soon!!! But.... A Special shoutout to Sister Cindy and her team of Valery, Priscilla and Patience!!!!!! They did the extra mile in looking after me and my 86-year old roommate with a broken hip!!!!! They have her a bath and tools/handle to make her life easier to move around. I will have no problem in returning to Plett MC with their friendly staff working there!!!!

My Bad Experience at Plettenbergbay MediClinic - 23 January 2019 1. The bathroom smelt like a urinal and die toilet bowl very dirty. The smell was overwhelming. The carpets were so stained I did not want to take off my shoes. After complaining, the staff cleaned the bathroom but the urine smell was still in the air. Badly stained pillow slip which I asked to be removed. They moved me to a second 'clean' room. See attached photos of the bedding of the "clean" room! 2. The staff searched for 2 hours to find me a theater gown, eventually 5 min before I went in they brought me a gown. I spoke to Miss Lubbe and she said they were very busy in December 2108 and I am still wondering what that had to do with the 23 January 2019? Apparently the laundry did not deliver the laudndry. They have NO extra gowns? 3. I arrived back to the ward at lunchtime and was not offered any thing to drink or eat (after fasting for nearly 24 hours) No water or glass next to the bed. I went in tonight with terrible abdominal pains. The on call doctor did not come out, he simply asked the nurse to give me an injection. I have an incredibly high pain threshold and would not go to the ER lightly. I had already taken two different pain meds, which the Dr did not even know about as he didn't ask over the phone. The nurse (who was incredible and so apologetic about the on call Dr not coming out) suggested that he spoke to me, he said no, he would rather speak to her. The injection that they gave me has hardly had any effect. I was told to hold out and go to my house Dr tomorrow instead. In my opinion, this is unacceptable. The Dr does not even know what is wrong with me and did not even come out to examine me. I am very disappointed.

This will be the second time I arrived by dead man’s door. Worst service I ever received. So what happened my child got injured and raced him to medicine just to be greeted by o one. This was during the day on n Friday. My partner went around the corner to see if she can’t get in I managed to come in by the side (no guard no checking station just opened the door and walked in) beside the point. So now we inside and waiting for a doctor to assist our injured child. After an half an hour I gave up and whet to my GP. Luckily my child wasn’t critically injured. I will never recommend someone that has an medical emergency to come to this mediclinic as there is no onsite doctor and the have to call someone in to assist.

Myself and my wife went to the clinic on a Sunday while on honeymoon in South Africa as we were concerned about our baby to be given my wife had been ill for a week or so. The staff were excellent, the doctor had no problem coming in on call and we weren't waiting long. Also the outcome was that everything is fine. The reviews prior to mine have on average been low but they were perfect for us.

Excellent service received by the doctors and staff on Sunday 7 October 2018 when my mum and brother in law and sister rushed to the hospital with my dad Ivan Barties after their holiday in Sedgefield. Sadly my dad passed away before they reached the hospital but they were assisted and the hospital kept my dad's body until all the family from Port Elizabeth and the undertakers arrived to take my dad back to Port Elizabeth. The care and service received brought some comfort during this very sad time. We would like to express our gratitude to all who assisted.
