I wrote a prescription for my mom for painkillers for her backspasm (I am an anaesthetist). My mom suffers from severe osteoporosis and chronic backpain due to compression fractures. She is due to have a painblock in George soon , but for now her GP had prescribed strong slow release painkillers and I prescribed her an anti inflammatory as well. The pharmacist assistant had the audacity to remark that perhaps my mom’s pain is due to a gastric ulcer due to all the painkillers. Just coincidentally my mom had a gastroscopy a couple of weeks back whilst having a hernia repair done which was clear with no ulcer coincidentally. She knows her stomach is sensitive to anti inflammatories so she does take Lansoloc whenever she feels the need for an anti inflammatory. She was very upset by this ladies’ comment when this person has absolutely no insight into her condition. The remark was hurtful and unnecessary and I advised my mom to get her chronic medication from anothe pharmacy in future.

Got a cold while in Plettenberg Bay, they were fully stocked with all the usual necessities for dealing with a cold . Lots of supplements and natural remedies . Be aware many pharmacies close early , it is different where I live , so get what you need before the sun goes down
