I received the hand plane I ordered at the weekend, it is a gift for my nephew who is surfing mad. I can't believe how beautifully made it is, a real work of art and a piece to treasure for years to come. The packaging is awesome too, the shavings smell deliciously of the wood you use, these little extras make it a really special gift. The Fistral Bay outline I requested looks great too and I hope others will be inspired by my amazing idea lol! I only wish I could surf myself.

I bought a Compass handplane for last Christmas as a gift for my stepfather, who's an avid surfer and swimmer. I can't speak highly enough of their product. Beautifully finished and my stepdad just absolutely loves it!
I bought a Compass handplane about 6 months ago and I am really pleased with it. I generally use it for mucking about in the water when the waves are really too small to bother surfing, it has transformed my body surfing. You can catch a wave and ride it almost all the way in with one of these. Which is exhausting because you are constantly catching a long ride and them paddling out again to catch the next one. Brilliant fun, and i really need to take it out in bigger waves too, because I have a feeling that it will really come into its own then.......
I love my Compass handplane, it's given my bodysurfing a whole new level of enjoyment. I use it regularly when taking the kids out for a surf so I don't have to worry about a board getting in the way, and can catch decent sized waves back in with them. It's most fun on the low tide hollow waves though where I've been getting better rides than I've ever been able to get before. I totally recommend getting one.
