Devonport Terminal comprises the traffic lanes on the Devonport side of the ferry. Traffic is directed into the correct lane by a \traffic light\ system operated from the Control Tower. A speaker system is used to advise cars that have entered the wrong lane. Embarkation is also controlled from the Tower. One lane is reserved for priority traffic such as buses, ambulances, police cars etc. Public toilets are available.
A very convenient service which runs frequently and saves 40 minutes and 20 miles versus a return bridge crossing at the same price (1.50 return for a car). Staff were pleasant enough.
It's a ferry and is useful if you want to get from Cornwall to England or from England to Cornwall. The alternative is a long drive.
Was a great service until the new ferries were bought in. They have now become extremely unreliable. There is always a problem with one of them. Not good for locals who rely on this service to run on time so they can get to work etc. Lacks visusl communication. It's ok putting stuff on social media but when you are driving you cant see what is happening. Would be helpful if the sign leading to the ferry said what was happening eg: ferries running a shuttle service etc rather than reduced service possible delays. That does not help anyone
