Bill assisted a client and me, doing a fantastic job of producing technical sports jackets. I was expecting to him to turn the work down as it was highly complex and made with difficult to handle (parachute-type) rip-stop fabric - the kind of product typically only sewn up in distant low-labour-cost countries. From the word go, Bill got straight to the point quizzing me on all pertinent questions, which was instantly reassuring (a more typical experience of UK factory liaison involves receiving a dozen or more calls, each call starting with the words \one more question!\) It boils down to three things: he knows his stuff, he's a good communicator and he quickly grasped what we wanted. Of course, proof is in the pudding, and his skill and understanding in garment make-up was evident in the execution, which was top notch. I've had dealings with over a dozen different UK clothing manufacturers in the past decade and it's very rare to find such a talented and experienced hand in this country.
