15% deposit required for any mortgage??? You have to be kidding me? How the hell do you expect first time buyers to get on the property ladder if they have to say minimum 20k just to get a mortgage. Especially when you have wonderful companies that offer 5% deposit mortgages out there. Disgraceful.

The staff at the Plymouth branch were amazing ,they really helped me out over power of attorney ,really put themselves out brilliant customer service
Appalling customer service. Zero common sense, but specialists in 'computer says no'. Tried to transfer money using my online account, which got flagged due to the amount & told to go to this branch to verify identity. Called them and explained I couldn't as I was self isolating under doctors orders due to chest infection & fractured hip. I offered various ways to prove my identity online, but was basically told its 'their way or the highway'. So I had to make a painful 8 mile journey to the town centre (Had to get a taxi as can't drive due to hip). When I got to this branch, they said 'I thought you said you couldn't come in?' Unbelievable!!! Proved my identity, transfered money, closed Halifax account & told them I will never do business with them ever again. Made to feel like a criminal. I strongly suggest you bank elsewhere (First Direct are brilliant).
I understand covoid restrictions but how am I able to visit the bank when I work Monday to Friday and its closed at the weekend?
I've had to put 1* to put a review.The staff are so arrogant and unhelpful.Customer service is absolutely disgusting.They do know how to deal with Customers as a whole.This Bank needs to be closed as they are no help with Customers....PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY.....
