Thought three of us would try lunch at the King's today. It's just reopened although the letting sign is still outside. Well, when we walked in we were greeted by the most drab, sad and unwelcoming ambience ever. If it was just me I would have walked out again without ordering! The walls have been given a touch-up of emulsion here and there with majority of the walls left untouched and drab. The carpet in the other eating area was filthy, it was just awful. We did order some food and I have to say it was very tasty and not expensive. I couldn't get a coffee as they don't serve hot drinks?! The lady serving was very polite and friendly. Sadly, if anyone is going to make a success of this pub, they must do a complete refurbishment and not open to the public until it's done. Maybe then and only then would I return
