Super-friendly club, great adult and junior coaching sessions, social activities too. I came back to tennis 4 years ago starting with Saturday coaching, then \Rusty Racquets\ and now play in local league. New members always given warm welcome.

My shy teenage daughter became keen on tennis after playing it at school for a few years. I took her to look at the courts and site on Tuesday evening and there were a large group of \ladies\ playing tennis. We parked up in the adjacent car park and they started trying to get our attention and gesticulating for us to go away! It is not a private site and we were doing no harm. My daughter was very upset and it has put her off playing tennis for good. She has a very low self esteem and anxiety and I had hoped that joining the club would give her a much needed boost. Back to hiding in her bedroom reading books I guess. I was under the impression that these courts were for anybody to use, but obviously not. What a shame. I hope these \ladies\ read this and realise how badly they have affected a 12 year old girl's confidence. However, I suspect that they simply don't care.

I haven't played tennis since my husband died 6 years ago. We were keen players and won a few doubles in our time in our hometown. I moved to Plympton a year ago to be closer to my son but loneliness started to set in so I though I would try the tennis club's \Rusty Raquets\ group. They are so cliquey and it has an awful atmosphere. The lady that led it was offish and said that they don't usually take new people. I had a horrible time and have never encountered such an insular group of women. If you are looking for eye rolls, huffs and tuts then this is your place, otherwise avoid at all costs.
