This is our preferred fish and chip shop. The way they have developed their Covid system is great, always feel safe. The food is generally great, large portions, tasty and fresh. staff are usually friendly, smiley and polite. Notice the words generally & usually as it's not 100% of the time. However they are always busy and don't have time to pass their thoughts on the weather and they must stay safe themselves. Final thoughts -I will go back again and again as it's a very good chippy. Best around Plymstock.

First time using this fish shop, very disappointed. Rude staff, I asked for 2 battered jumbo sausages for them to straight away say that they did not have any as if they did not want to bother making fresh ones then had to say I was happy to wait as I wanted nuggets as well anyway. Got home after making it very clear I wanted 2 sausages to find no sausages, while waiting on the phone for them to answer had a few chips and they were cold. Went back to get the 2 sausages then again got home to find that they had simply put some batter on 2 already cooked sausages and recooked them rather than making fresh, you can tell the difference between a fresh battered sausage and a recooked battered sausage! Won't be using this chippy again unfortunately.

We seemed to wait a long time for our food, maybe it was because it was near closing time. I've not been to this chippy in years and when I drive by there always seems to be a queue so maybe they are just popular or could speed cooking up a bit as my local chippy cooks to order and is still much quicker! After telling my partner that the jumbo sausages were sold out only after receiving our food we were told that 2 smaller sausages had been provided to compensate. On getting to sit down and eat.....guess what, just one small battered sausage so we paid for food we didnt get!! In my opinion, chips were average, a bit greasy and on the soggy side, won't be rushing back.

I honestly do not take any pleasure from leaving a one star review but i really am hard pushed to give this establishment even this. Quite honestly the worst fish and chips I have been served for many, many years. Visited about two months ago and food wasn't great but was ok so i thought I'd give it another try as this shop has always had a good reputation in the past. How things change, visited last night, staff very disinterested to a point of rudeness. The food (fish & chips) were very poor and dripping in fat, the chips i had to throw away, they were pale, undercooked, limp and stuck together with fat. The fish was just about edible once the batter was removed. I shall be going elsewhere in future, sorry but you can't keep dishing up awful food and expect people to keep coming back. Shame, what went wrong !
