I attended for shuttle mediation. On the first occasion, just being in the same building as someone who used to shout, smash things and who had harassed me was worrying. However, Vicki moved between our rooms seamlessly, was always fair in her representations of what one had said to the other so that we have reached a financial settlement that can be ratified. It has made this stage of divorce so much easier. I would thoroughly recommend South West Mediation for their ability to steer couples through sometimes very difficult situations and still avoid a court hearing with all its attendant stress and cost.
I didn’t like the service we got here, it was expensive and took weeks between appointments, later found out they only work in Plymouth once a week. We got recommended to another mediator and got things sorted real quick.
I have been referring clients and friends of mine to South West Mediation, for family matters, for some eight years, and have yet to receive anything other than glowing reports. Personally, I find all of the staff absolutely charming and incredibly helpful, and they are always happy to take referrals directly over the phone rather than via online forms, which is a big positive for me. My clients come away from SWM feeling they have been listened to and conscientiously assisted, which, in turn adds to their confidence in our service. There is no other mediation service in the South West to which I would refer. Please keep up the excellent work.
Absolutely shambolic. The whole process felt rushed, the information provided was incoherent at best, leaving me feeling ill informed throughout the whole process. Their complaints procedure is a total farce. My wife complained and got a refund, yet I was repeatedly asked to jump through hoops for my contribution to be returned, to the point I actually gave up asking. Mediation is probably a good thing and I can see the benefits, but in order to make it a positive experience I would advise you check all available options, rather then going for the first firm your solicitor suggests.
