I used to come into Plymouth every couple weeks or so, as my partner was at Uni. I would always come into this Spar as it was on the way to the Uni she was at. I went in first by chance, I was really thirsty as it was a heatwave in the middle of summer! I went into the store as it was closest at the time. I went in expect just another Spar like I have been into before... How I was very wrong... They have baked goods?! I have never been into a spar with any pastries, etc. Let alone freshly made ones. Macarons, Danish, pasties... the selection is vast! I can safely say I was blown away by this as I loooove pastries a lot. It was had to pick what I could have so I went mad and picked up a selection! To be honest the prices are very good as well, not too expensive compared to bakeries or cafes. The store is rather large, an amazing selection of goods. Great selection of drinks, from fizzy, milkshakes, iced teas and not to forget the slushies. The staff are a little quiet, not too talkative but always nice and smile as they serve you. Everytime been polite. Everytime now I go into Plymouth, I will always go into this Spar, pick up a handful of desserts, pastries and a selection of macarons. I have been to a Macaron cafe in London, they were good don't get me wrong, but the ones in this Spar are so so good! Never had any like them. If I'm ever in Plymouth my partner always asks if I can get her a few too. They are nice, light, perfectly made! I had an apple and marzipan cake (that or almond, eitherway) that was incredible too! Honestly, don't need to go to a bakery at all, don't have to fork out to get Macarons from London which were pretty expensive... 49p each in spar (from last time I was in). By the way, I did forget the drink on the first visit as the pastries hypnotized me haha. Another mention is they had a better milkshake selection than my local supermarkets, so that's the biggest plus. I defiantly need to visit soon for more pastries!

I think that this is the only convenience store in the City Centre. It has a good range of products and is open until 2300 every day. The bakery section is very good. Their savouries are well worth trying!
