Excellent venue for cafe light bites, coffee, drinks and the all important cocktails. The decor is a great reflection upon the rustic building from its stone floors, beer barrel tables and wooden tavern style bar. Recommend a visit as the staff are friendly and the food is tasty.

Fantastic food and service! Chef made the cooked breakfast vegetarian for us, going that extra mile for customers. Amazing iced coffee here - definitely get it! Great atmosphere. Love the decoration in the toilets
Nice place, good decor, a bit similar to a Cosy Club. Not much choice of teas or cakes. Certainly didn't cater for gluten free customers. Sadly, the gluten free raspberry macaron had horrible chocolate filling. My fruit scone had 5 currants and was minuscule and bland. And.....they had no other jam but strawberry! Why doesn't anyone think outside the box ? You can buy a better scone in Sainsbury's. Big and brash upfront these places just flatter to deceive and do not deliver. Probably a better venue in the evening for cocktails etc. Won't be going back for afternoon tea!!
Lovely place. Looking around alot of care and attention has gone into the deco giving it an authentic feel with the quirky aspect of food and drink being available. I had the best Hunters chicken and a cool fruit cider my husband had a ploughman's but found the cheese about plain he washed this down with sharps Atlantic. This kicks the other big brand pub across the road out of the ball park. If the road outside could be shut down in the evening - the 'cruisers' are an accident waiting to happen and contribute nothing to the tourist trade this would help the cafe/bistro pavement culture and give the area a certain vibe of its own.
This is a stunning new venture in the heart of the historic Barbican. It seems that no expense has been spared on the decor from the furnishings to the lighting to the wall art, everything has a touch of class. Friendly staff, good service and excellent food. A little pricey but acceptable considering your surroundings! Our sharing meat platter was adequate, but only because we added some ciabatta as a side order - the 3 crackers on their own would not have been enough. (The cream tea served to an adjoining table was the smallest I have ever seen!) Lovely comfy sofas and armchairs where you could relax and read my book "Professor Harry Parker and the Tunnels of Argonaut Bay" by Steve Pick available on Amazon kindle. Overall good experience.
Lovely, atmospheric place to grab a coffee/brunch/lunch/cake near the Barbican. The decor is fabulous, and my personal favourite areas are the bathrooms - each hand painted by a very talent artist. The time and effort that has gone into renovating this building is evident! Kind and helpful staff who always have a smile on their face! Everything is well priced which is very refreshing! We’ve been for brunch and lunch now, and are looking forward to coming back for evening drinks in the future.
We stopped for a couple of cocktails, didn't try the food. The drinks were really nice. Average cocktail prices really, but the staff were super friendly, made us feel welcome and at ease. I would definitely go again.
I really wanted to love this place because the staff were really friendly and the location is so nice. Unfortunately, the food was just really bad. It tasted like both our mains were microwaved, the chicken was really dry and tough and my husband's fish was really soggy and watery. I'd consider going back for a cosy drink but definitely not to eat.
