Exceptional help from the staff putting us in at Porter's Crossing and helping us out at the dock. Equipment in excellent shape. Our friends were in an Old Town Tandem kayak, we were in an Old Town canoe. Enjoyed the meandering narrow river at the start and then the open water. Intrigued by the beaver-chewed cypress stumps, which you have to look for and if you use a bit of imagination look like people you know. Three hours is a good estimate for a moderate level of effort. Adding a lunch stop was a plus.

I did the Porter's Crossing with a single kayak. The kayak itself was a lot nicer than I've rented from other boat rental companies. The staff was personable polite and quickly got me into my kayak on the river. The journey from PC back to the canoe company was very beautiful. Plenty of shade, birds, turtles and plant life. This was a fun solo excursion and I will definitely be back again.

Great place! We rented a canoe for the day and they drove us to a different part of the river and dropped us to make our way back (2-3 hours on the river). Lovely area to paddle around (beavers, muskrats, herons, and turtles galore) for the day. Kind service. We will be back!

tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and had a plethora of stories to tell as we meandered the river. the views were breathtaking and the wildlife was beautiful and unlike what I've seen before. the nature was very inspiring. definitely recommend the tour for any nature lovers who want a soothing afternoon.
