Good stop for a basic coffee or cold drink or even a spot if lunch. Consume it in the tiny village square opposite the shop! Popular with SDW walkers and cyclists becaise there's nothing else on the route for many kiles. What is that monument outside?

I really like this shop as they sell unusual and delicious food. However, I do feel the prices in the deli are way too high and would sell much more if they were not so greedy. I was rather shocked today at the rudeness of a member of staff when I enquired how much a small piece of quiche was. When I learnt it was 2.75 I said thank you but no thank you. As I walked away, I heard her say \she should go to Morrisons\!! I spent 16 on other items that were relatively priced with the quality of the goods but I felt the quiche price was excessive. I could only imagine the huge profit made on one whole quiche. I shall not be returning to this deli.

They wouldn't fill our water bottles on a long and hot bicycle ride, even after I very nicely explained that the water fountain was out of action and we were a bit stuck. Only interested in selling us bottled water despite having a tap in view. Very unhelpful to the point of almost rude. Thanks a bunch, the ride back to Hastings was dangerously thirsty. I'll make sure I avoid this place.

Lovely selection of food on offer although pricey. Despite spending over 20 on just a couple of sausage rolls, a loaf of bread and carton of juice the shop keepers couldn't muster the smallest of smiles. Both shop keepers are miserable, verging on rude. You almost feel like you're intruding when you step inside the shop. I felt rushed to make a decision when choosing from the deli and was met with rolling eyes. Next time I won't bother giving them my business, I'll visit one of the lovely pubs or cafes nearby. League of Gentlemen comes to mind!

A well stocked shop with delicious deli food. Lovely space. Pity about the shop keeper. Sharp, unhelpful and inflexible. I visited twice in a week and experienced her poor (lack of) customer care on both occasions. Maybe she's having a bad week.
