Wilmington is a tiny, peaceful village nestled in the rolling hills of the South Downs. It feels like you are stepping into history when you experience the magnificence of this 1600 year old Yew tree!! Yes, 1600 years old!! It is truly loved and the care taken to help prop-up its aching boughs and branches is astonishing. This amazing tree sits like the caretaker and gatekeeper to the peaceful graveyard of St Mary & St Peter's Church, founded in the 11th Century - so a mere youngster compared to the ancient Yew! Such a picturesque part of East Sussex.
