At a first glance looking at James' portfolio I was pretty chuffed to even have the opportunity of working with him. He has an excellent eye and releases the most beautiful content; I feel he really captures the best in people and has creative ideas a lot of people wouldn't even think of. I felt very comfortable around him and that allowed me to also feel happy and comfortable to work with him in anyway that was required. Allowing us to both express ourselves and talk about any idea that felt relevant. We did an 'autumnal shoot' and I honestly feel it was one of the best shoots I have ever been apart of. From the shoot itself to the speed of his editing and even at the speed of his editing the images were all individually released with such a high quality. If you want a shoot where you feel you can express yourself and whoever you want a shoot with, I could not recommend James more.

James has taken many photos for me, both professionally and personally, and gets it right every time. He has an eye for the natural world around us so is full of location ideas, and his relaxed and friendly demeanour means that the resulting images always feel natural rather than staged, whether it's a family photo or a work headshot. It's a pleasure working with James and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him for portrait photography as well as landscapes.
Really easy going photographer. He is fun to be around while keeping the work professional. Really communicative and makes sure you are alright. If you are a starting model, I will definetly recommend going to him first.
I took part in one of James’ recent Photo Walks. Despite the rain it was an extremely enjoyable morning during which I learnt more in the first few minutes than I have during the last few years. James is a natural teacher. As well as having the ability to explain things clearly and simply he was very giving of his expertise and experience. The locations we visited were well chosen and he really opened my eyes to the detail of the town I have lived in for most of my life! His suggestions for shots were spot on. Highly recommend.
James is a fantastic photographer- professional, friendly and extremely easy to work with. He continually produces stunning and thought provoking work. We shot an editorial together that was excellently planned and communicated well by James- sourcing a talented MUA and stunning location as well as supplying moodboards and extra garments and accessories. His direction was just enough: helpful and encouraging. I couldn't have wanted more on an editorial shoot like this! The photographs were then published in an international portrait magazine. I highly recommend working with James and I look forward to working together again!
I have worked with James on 2 occasions. Firstly he made a fantastic video of me performing as a guitarist and secondly I attended a half day photography workshop that he was running. I came away with so much more understanding than I had before on how to get the most out of using my camera - it was fantastic!
If I was to describe James in a couple of words it would probably be: friendly and professional (the best combo!). We recently worked together on editorial shoot, which was an absolute pleasure. His meticulous planning (getting a MUA, creating moodboards, deciding on the location), communication, and general talent in photography resulted in amazing photos! Would highly recommend and look forward to doing some more projects together!
