Great experience. Buy your ticket online 35 for 2. Lots of people touting for business they want to take you on a walking guide tour. The place is a lot bigger than you think. Very interesting would defiantly recommend!

It's a beautiful place to visit however, even if you book online there was a kilometric outdoor queue and nobody was there to explain or separate the groups. In addition, the maps were scarce and only available at 1 entrance, far from that where we arrived to. If you arrive to Pompei Station, do not pay extra for transportation, the site is about 5min on foot. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes. There is one sandwich restaurant close to the foro (prepare to stand in line for 20min), with free access to toilets.

Much bigger than I anticipated and I would recommend a tour guide. Plan a large portion of your day here to really get the full experience. If a tour is not your style, you can download an audio guide on Google play (what I did) which was pretty good.

This was undoubtedly one of my most favourite places in Italy. It’s filled with mystery and definitely requires more than a day to enjoy it completely. It has multiple areas to explore and one can easily get lost! So make sure you mark the areas on the map where you’ve been so that you don’t end up going about the same area again and again. The shops outside try to scam you stating that there are no information boards inside (they lied!) because the information was quite descriptive and very interesting! But in my honest opinion it’s best to go there with a guide.

Wow! Pompeii is probably already on most people's list when travelling to Italy, and rightfully so. You could spend hours here. I would suggest paying for a guide, or getting an audio guide, otherwise you don't really know what you're looking at. Not much in the way of info around the site. Was very hot the day we were there, but you can find the odd shady area. A must do.
