Wow this place is awesome. Huge open concept common area. Kitchen has everything you need, Sky TV. Plenty to do for kids, games and books. Fireplace heated up the house no problem. Shower was best I've ever had. Beds were comfortable. This place was so peaceful and quiet. Was so nice to sit on the deck and listen to the native birds. The owners are great and are ready to help with anything you need. Local pub 2mins walk away has excellent value huge meals. We are definately going back to stay at Puketoi Lodge

Great lodge to stay! Clean & tidy. This place has some of the best showers I have seen. Big and spacious living room and sky tv is a good bonus. Would highly recommend staying here.
Beautiful place to live.. So quiet and peaceful
I stayed at Puketoi Lodge in the heart of Pongaroa for a weekend and enjoyed myself a lot. The lodge itself is a cozy and comfortable place. It's got a big common room, a kitchen just like at home and the best showers I've seen so far! The big fire place will get the place warm in no time and will add some warmth to the sleeping rooms as well. Just around the corner you'll find the supermarket and the local pub. I highly advise you to get to know some locals in the pub and listen to their stories. You can learn a lot about the history of the region. I had a great weekend, going to the beach, meeting many locals, watching the local rugby match and was even invited to a family dinner. Thanks for the great stay and see you again any time soon! :)
This is a superbly relaxing place. Spacious and comfortable and clean and great facilities. Everyone very friendly and trusting. Second time I’ve stayed here.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Puketoi Lodge. The Lodge is well equiped, had nice new showers and a cozy living room. It is located close to the general store and the pub, which serves affordable and generous burgers. We had the pleasure to be there with the owner, who is a great host and made us feel at home. If you get the chance to visit the coast, it‘s a great ride with stunning views, absolutely worth it. We wished we had stayed longer.
