They're completely obvious. One day after the return of our car (they said it was perfectly fine), they charged us 237 for a scratch we never did. When we tried to receive information regarding it, they won't even give us a copy of our returned voucher... They just send us some bad photos without the plate number and afterwards they never answered to our several emails.

Don't go there. We booked a car for 1 day at Azorescar 2 days ago and it was a total joke. The insurance was way too expensive to make sure we don't have to pay anything in case of damage, so we only bought one for 9, so the max co-payment in case of damage is 900. When we returned the car, they found 2 small scratches, that we're easily fixable with a little bit of polishing, but instead they ended up charging us 250 for basically nothing.

Don't go there, it's a total ripoff!!! Took back our rented vehicle and told us that everything was ok, the employee even signed the contract. After a week waiting for my deposit to be released, I tried to get back in touch with them. They didn't answer my calls, only the hotel was able to talk to them. Then we were told that they found a damage afterwards and that they were going to charge me the repair costs. I tried to argue that we have a signed contract that shows that there is no damage, but they still charged me with the costs. I only got my money back through the help of my credit card company. I know it's hard to get a rental vehicle on the island, but you should try to go somewhere else. Also, when reading other posts here, it seems like they do this quite often.

We were super happy with our little skoda Citigo we got from azoescars. It was a very reasonable price per day, the car was very clean and the stuff was super friendly. ALSO, after our trip I forgot my wallet in the car. One of the employees searched for it and even came super quickly to the airport which made it possible for me to get on the plane in time. Super thankful for that, thanks a lot guys!!

WORST CAR RENTAL EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD. We got caught by the police because this company doesn't ensure their cars. Police told us that this happened before, it destroyed our last day of the trip, we were asked to drive back and change the car but we where more than one hour away from the renting place and that meant losing all day driving up and down being uninsured. They gave us a fine of 500 and we had to stay with them for almost 2 hours. Meanwhile we calle the company 4 times to get in touch with them and see how we could solve this issue. Not even one answer, not even the rest of the calls that we did during the rest of the day or the SMS sended. We confronted the company and asked back the money we paid for the insurance. But they told us about personal issues with the boss and the police, their point was that all was a mistake from the police, that they were not mainly responsible for what happened to us. They took the fine and paid for it as the fine was for the owner of the car not for the driver. We were driving WITHOUT insurance, that was what the police told us, and they where pretty straight when they told us that we were driving under our own responsability. If something happened the driver would be in charge of the damage to the card and thirds involved and nothing would cover me as I knew I was driving a non insured car. Police told us that this is not the first time this happens especialy with this company. The situation is pathetic, we are still waiting for an answer from the company. AVOID THEM, It's full of better places to rent a car in Azores.

One of the worst companies to rent a car. Their contract is completely against the customer and the english version of the document is not clear. I rented a car with them for a day and after delivering it they asked me to pay 250 for 2 scratches where was also included 50 for having the car stopped for one day to repair. In the beggining they didn't explain me well the insurance options and the contract says that all the responsability is over the client without making any difference between kinds of damages, so they are able to give you a bill of any value for the repair. Dont go there, you will find better options in the islands.
