William Bowley competed against two large local contractors for the extensive refurbishment of our 70s town house by the beach. We were immediately impressed by their enthusiasm and understanding of our vision for the property. Running this project remotely, it was important to us to have builders we could trust and who would be collaborative on creative decisions as the build progressed. We were thankful to be able to tap into Nick’s knowledge of local trades for sourcing everything from flooring and kitchens to introducing us to Justin who built our amazing watersports room. It was a pleasure to work with Nick T throughout this project. He was professional at all times and his attention to detail was invaluable as problems, inevitably, arose. Buying a property in such a state of disrepair was somewhat of a leap of faith for us as we do not live in the area and are not particularly experienced in property refurbishment. We were very lucky to come across Nick and Nick from William Bowley. They are both very approachable and we always felt the project was in capable hands. Over the last few years I have used William Bowley on two quality refurb projects on high end flats in Sandbanks, Poole, and have nothing but praise for them. Our flat has been in need of updating for some time and we had deliberated how best to approach this living away from the area. We met Nick Turner almost by chance as he was making a few finishing touches to the flat next door. We had a tour of the flat and were thoroughly impressed by the quality of work and attention to detail. We had no hesitation in asking William Bowley to project manage a complete refurbishment of our flat. We have at all times been given full information and regular updates. They have always listened to our questions and ideas, with great patience!, and were happy to offer their own ideas too. We heard about William Bowley from a friend. When we met Nick and Nick, we were impressed with their thoroughness in preparing their quote. That thoroughness was carried through the rest of the project. The quote was extremely detailed, and they were happy to make the many changes we requested as we refined our thoughts. They spent a lot of time trying to understand the type of look and finish we were after, within the budget we had set out. Once we agreed the final quote, their methodical approach meant everything went to time and on budget, except for the odd unforeseen change. We were impressed with how quickly things progressed. They were very diligent in keeping us up to date with regular updates and photos and the job was finished on time and on budget. They were also very good at communicating with us when a decision needed to be made. Even when the job was finished, their attention to detail continued for the small amount of snagging work and diligent follow up. We are really impressed with the finished product and are absolutely delighted with the end result. Finally, we found Nick and Nick great guys to deal with and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
William Bowley have been extremely professional throughout the who process of our 16 week complete renovation of our annex. They started with some speculative work on behalf of our architects who needed some information under the existing floor and went onto tender for the work. Nick Turner was appointed our project manager and he has been a complete pleasure to work , always keeping an eye on controlling the clients cost but at the same time extremely detailed only accepting the best standards from his supply chain all of whom are clearly people he has worked with on many occasions. The project has come in 3% above the original quote but we added much more to the specification as we went on and Nick found savings as we moved forwarded resulting in only a 3% rise in the original quote. We got a lot more for almost the value of the tendered spec ( i.e. Bifold patio doors, up graded radiators, windows and more). Communication is key and Nick was available any day to talk and chat through ideas or where decisions were needed by us. I don't think there are many building projects where the client honestly will say that we will miss the team as they are great people who embraced we were creating a wonderful annex for my 90 year old parents and have done everything within their power to do this. Thank you Nick and Nick we look forward to using you when we save up and do the main house.
We bought our apartment in Dorset as a second home, knowing that it needed refurbishing. We needed someone who could do the work and the project management for us, given our main home is in the Midlands. From our first meeting with ‘the Nicks’, they were professional and knowledgeable and produced a detailed first specification which we were able to go through and amend before work started. The project was managed efficiently, with excellent communication throughout. We received weekly updates including photos so that, although we couldn’t visit often, we could see how well the work was progressing. It was great to be able to trust that the work was getting done and, at the same time, know our neighbours were being disturbed as little as possible. We are delighted with the high quality of the work and have no hesitation in recommending William Bowley Projects.
