#letsguide Andaman & Nicobar depends on Tourism. But matter of fact, ' Athi Devo bhava' is just a jargon for the Tourism department as well as the Directorate of Shipping services. The ticket booking office staff enjoy the air-condition comfort and are absolutely rude. They have no basic courtesy towards tourists. At Phoniex bay jatty, the reservation staff ask for ID photo copy. How do the passanger know that he/she has to provide ID copy? Why the department can't afford to have a xerox machine? It not can't you scan the ID proof? But your staff arogently ask the tourist to go out and get the ID photocopy. If not why the department can't publish for an RFQ and outsource the service? Dept also get revenue as well as passangers don't have to go in search of photocopy centre in the city. Why the DoSS understand, if the xerox machine centre is not working out, why the tourist has to sleep in your waiting shed? Why didn't you provide this information online? Why no bill stuck at entrance?. For Swachh Bharat abhyan initiative, how much you spend for this garbage container? I'm sure it would have costed more than Rs 25000/- each. In this how much money the concerned officers or the politicans made? You don't have a concern for the Tourists and keep a xerox machine of Your own at the ticket booking office?. The department has no consideration for the Tourists, but need to enjoy the Govt employment under air-condition comfort. The Govt of India, Tourism ministry has to tighten all those babus under both these departments if not the Tourism will not flourish. Had a very bad experience at Andaman.

Directorate of shipping services located at phoenix jetty,port Blair is the hub for many shipping services, both cargo and domestic shipping done between port Blair and Havelock, diglipur,rangat,mayabunder, little andaman,Neil islands.This is the place where one can buy tickets of government run ferries to reach the above said places.
I travel to Kamorta from portblair. Nice experience in Cambellbay ship.
