Best shipping service. Very cheap. Very polite staff at jetty and in ferry both. Very clean ferry and air conditioned also. Ferry has back deck also. You can get tickets 3 day before date of journey. But some issues in ticketing. There was little corruption at ticket counters and I had seen a lot of tout at ticket counters. Overall, no doubt DSS is better than private ferry company. Almost same facilities with both but advantage of gov ferry are ticket price (one third of private) and deck.

On 17 there where a vessel in diglipur via mayabandar but it cancelled and they even don't give a message. And also many person face trouble because of there bad sevice

You get government boats from hear to go to swaraj dweep (Havelock island)

Good and helpful information center. It is also a harbour ferry counter. Staffs are courteous and helpful. Information towards the passengers specially towards the tourists needs to be improved more. Announcement regarding departure or arrival of ships also needs to be maintained properly for the benefit of the passengers or the visitors.

So it is the place where u get tickets for the government boats , locals have subsided rates and priority .. the tourists have to shell out much higher for boat tickets which is subjected to weather, condition &routine of boats and so on... However it's economical and depending on which boat u get experience may vary .. Else there are private players available
