We as a group of 3 went to the resort nearly a year ago. I'm normally nobody that writes comments..but I really had to because I read the last rating! We stayed nearly 2 weeks and it was one of my best experiences in life! The place is quiet, clean and well groomed. You can see they put a lot of work/love into building the resort. The hosts are one of the most genuine people I ever met in life. We cooked together, went fishing and talked. We also laughed (regarding to the last rating). And Shibankar is definite the best cook on the island! Thanks for the nice experience!

Loved this place alot. It's calm and serene to nature & you can hear the beach sound. Mr. Sibankar takes care of guests very well and prepares the good food and fruit juices, he prepares french and Spanish cuisine dishes. It's good to sleep in natural bamboo hut over there and do yoga in the morning and evening. Stay in this place once and you will love it. Peace and love to all
I went to the Elephat and Four Wise Men Eco Resort with a friend in the month of December right after the cyclone and loved my stay. The resort has comfortable bamboo huts with charging points and bed. The shared toilet and bathrooms are very neat and clean. Best part of my stay was the hospitality shown by the owner Natalia and her son Nathan - we had a very nice time playing with the kid too. The food prepared by both Natalia and the bengali cook are amazing. We had prawns, and a russian delicacy prepared by Natalia - both were amazing. Please do try the ginger lemon and honey tea there- I had a bad throat and the tea was out of the world. The beach is just 200m from the resort and is absolutely amazing. No crowd at all and the sunset is the best- better than the other beaches advertised in Neil island because the sun sets on the horizon. other beaches in neil island the sun set is not good as it sets behind the island in front. We hired a bicycle from the resort and went around neil island. was the best part of our trip. The resort has a good collection of books and a comfy chillout area - you can sing- read a book or just chat with fellow travellers. They also organize snorkelling and boating trips on their own boat. Definitely recommend the place for family and also couples or solo travellers. We stayed there for 3 days but ideally you should stay there for longer relax lay back and enjoy the nature.
I am not one to usually write reviews like this but I think the behaviour and treatment that we received was unfounded. Let me start with the positives, this is peaceful and clean place with a good location and excellent food - the food is really delicious and has a focus on local ingredients and is not much more expensive than the rest of the places on the island - definitely eat here! Just to make the situation clear, yes, we were 3 friends who spent an evening drinking beer and we laughed loudly. We were asked to be quiet, and we did, we were not listening to loud music and we went to bed at 11 pm. But, really, how we were treated was when we first arrived. There are no smiles here. Any attempts to be friendly and crack jokes are shut down. Every attempt to ask for or about something is met with grunts, no eye contact and you are made to feel inadequate for asking. We were made to feel like naughty children, the morning after the night before. Ok, we may have behaved badly, in their eyes and were too noisy, but when you work in hospitality, I think, you have to accept what happened and just move on. It's not underlying passive aggressive behaviour, it's just passive aggressive. I accidentally smashed a glass at breakfast, cleaned it up and took it into the kitchen, said sorry and asked where to put the rubbish. I am sure this is quite a common problem? But I just got the cold shoulder. When I asked if I could take a bowl instead, all I got was a shoulder shrug. I ended up moving guesthouses because the atmosphere was just horrible. I am not the only one to have faced this, when I asked other guests about it, they agreed, and I saw many other couples moving because of the hostile atmosphere. They have a beautiful place here, it's such a shame that the owners go out of their way to be rude and unfriendly.
They have no doors on their huts, just straw mats. This is a huge security concern! At night when the light is on people can see through the straw mat, so you have no privacy, but you cannot see out. The beds are uncomfortable. Staff was rude. There are no fans, so it is hot and stuffy in the room. We paid for a week in advance online, and they refused to give us a refund when we said that we wanted to stay only 1 night at check-in. We left anyway and found something cheaper and better just down the road.
Very Basic.....Hut style stay....near to pure veg restaurant 'SHAKAHAR', recommended for solo traveler only. can get for Rs.1000 per night.
Top choice if your are looking for a peaceful quiet place. The shared bathrooms are very clean and the food coming out of the restaurant was always a positive surprise. The bikes for rent better get somewhere else. Beach is a short stroll through a forest away and (for that its still India) clean and 9 times out of 10 empty. Good location for some snorkeling and free-diving too! (Nice little caves to discover)
this resort is a very quiet and peaceful place to stay and the food is amazing. this is the best place to drink a coffee or an ice coffee and to eat homemade pasta, in particular seafood pasta
