The museum is located on Chatham road, an outskirt of the capital city of Port Blair.. The museum in the compound of the Chatham Saw Mill complex and great collection of wood based work and carvings that take our breath away with the intricate designing which is done on it.. A good museum to visit and see the excellent wooden furniture, carvings, statues, utensils and kitchen items and many more.. Museum shows all details about , why and how it was constructed, construction of bridge to connect the mill, damage done to mill during world war and various types of woods and its artifacts.. The pictorial history and the scenery of whole Andaman has well been presented here.. The overall information on Andaman and it's different tribes has been depicted here well.. The museum is very small in space but collection is very good and interesting.. There is also a shop from where one can buy wooden articles.. Worth a visit..

One of a kind museum, you will be awestruck to witness some incredible masterpieces carved from single piece of wood. It would be great if you hire a guide to give you detailed info about the history of woods in Andaman, as it dates back to 19th century, when Brits came and started the saw mill.
