Volcano-Marine evidence, exclusive exhibit. Pillow lavas are formed when hot molten lava erupts under sea water, or subaqueous extrusion and solidifies in the form of characteristic pillow-shaped structures i.e., roughly spherical or rounded pillow-shape. The lava gets chilled so suddenly that part of the flow separates into discrete rounded bodies a few feet or less in size. This unique geologic feature, the result of submarine volcanic eruption, is located by the side of Prothrapur.
