Great food, love the moussaka, souvlaki and lamb. Owner and staff are friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend :)

Reasonably priced considering the large portions (20-25 per plate). Could easily share a dish and appies. A few vegetarian options. Server was really nice. Liked the dolmades and lamb. The pina colada was too icy and chunky. Calamari appy was a lot, but small pieces so mostly tasted like batter.
Today I called Sparta hoping to place a last min large order for a family function. The owner took my call personally and helped me order a bunch of food that would be prepared family feast style. I went to pick up the order and it was packaged exactly how I was hoping it would be, brought the food home and not only was everything done to perfection... there was so much food I fed 9 people and was able to send food home with everyone to enjoy for another meal!! Thank you Sparta for making my friends and families dinner a great one! I recommend this place if you want a special dinner for a special day.
This place was recommended to me when I was looking for a local Greek restaurant for my boyfriend and I. According to their poorly done website it is voted "most romantic restaurant in Coquitlam" but not sure by who because it was far from it. The restaurant was very clean from what I could see. We were the only one in the big restaurant at the time of our seating and by the end of our meal everyone else who came to dine there was all crowded around us and not spread out. I could hear other tables conversations in full. Far from romantic hearing a baby crying (although great that kids are welcomed) by the way, I'm a mother too, but I was looking for a quiet romantic little restaurant. A part from a dozen or so items, it is not much Greek food. The waitress was nice but we didn't see her much. Serviced by 3-4 different people. For 25 a plate their wasn't much food on it. I ordered the chicken parmasean which came with "vegetables" aka a head of broccoli and a side option (I chose rice which tasted equivalent to Uncle Ben's microwaveable rice.) Likely not going here again.
Ordered a Large Greek Pizza with Anchovies. Loving it. Perfect crust, baked to perfection.
I don't take writing a review like this lightly, as I'm aware of the damage is can have to the restaurant. Price: 62 after tax Girlfriend gets the Ribs & Chicken (Approx 25) Myself Rack of Ribs Lasagna (Approx 26 4) So to start off with, we are order something on the high side of the menu, and spending over 60 so you think your getting something worthwhile. The chicken was this small breast, hammered flat, I wouldn't give them the credit to think that was tenderized. The ribs, because both of us had them, any amateur knows that the membrane of the ribs on the back should be taken off before cooked, and they just tasted like they had been boiled hours earlier, slapped some low grade BBQ sauce on and hit the grill for 3minutes a side and served. Additionally it comes in a small little aluminum takeout container and they weren't very big, not happy with the portion. Lasagna, had a healthy portion however wasn't happy with it, and had to laugh when the girlfriend told me it tasted like CHEF BOYARDEE, I was unhappy to admit, that it totally did. In short this could've been served by any chow hall. and I can't even give the benefit of an off night, because when I finished, I had a flash back to this happening several years ago. Im hoping for Change Disclaimer: Pizza and Roast Lamb have been good previously
Food was good. Service was good. Ambiance was good. A little on the expensive side.
Maria the owner is great to deal with!
