Walked down to the harbour and saw punchy prices (22 crab role anyone?). Stopped by On the way back to the car park and had the best crab sandwich and Sole in a Roll I’ve ever eaten.

Port Isaac is a beautiful little natural harbour the scent of freshly cooked seafood around the harbour is irresistible. I had travelled down from Boscastle and was hoping to get some fresh fish from David Knights but due to Google showing the closing times as 3pm not 1pm I missed the catch. Not put off I set off up the hill to a small cafe which I passed on the way in. Something about it recalled a place I had seen on the TV. I seemed to remember it being the venture of the wife of a local fishermen who catches and delivers to the cafe daily. The freshest of the Fresh From The Sea. My kids, wife and I shared some crab and lobster sandwiches and swilled it with some local soft drinks. The crab was my favourite the lobster my wife and kids both were delightful. This place isn't a cheap lunch, however if you have ventured to Port Isaac in search of great seafood, rather than a glimpse of Doc Martin, it would be worth the treat; besides who wants to eat cheap crab and lobster? Fishing is hard enough already without scratching (dredging *sorry*) for a living. And I'm from Fleetwood so I would know! Check out their close neighbours at Port Gaverne too, another beautiful cove harbour. Make the stop, check out the scenery, spend some pennies and you won't be disappointed.

Yesterday, my wife and I visited ‘Fresh By The Sea’ and bought a wedge each of Double Orange’ cake to eat..Wow, it was ‘off the scale’! Whoever made this certainly knows how to bake cakes..Mary Berry has nothing on you! Not that we were surprised, as all the food at this stunning ‘little gem’ of a sandwich shop, is always ‘proper’ delicious. We’ll be back! ️

We had crab sandwiches which were amazing, as much crab as bread! But I need to recommend the Victoria sponge even more. Easily the best I have ever had. Do stop by when in port Isaac!

What a great experience, we ate in and ordered the seafood feast, which was exceptional. If we ever visit the area again we will be back. This was one of the only genuine local food places that did not seem to take advantage of serving poor food and overcharging tourists.
