Homely pub with beautiful views over the harbour. Best fish pie I have had in a long time. Fish and chips was fresh and succulent. Kids chicken nuggets were okay. The team at the Golden Lion are serious about Covid without being overbearing. Would recommend if you happen to be visiting Port Isaac.

My wife and myself absolutely love this pub. Lovely pints and fabulous layout. We didn’t eat here on this trip but the food looked amazing. Covid has made life very difficult not just here in the pub, but all round the area but the locals have done their absolute best to try and ensure people’s safety. We had a good chat with the barman who lives in Isaac, and he told us about one of the films we love which was based heavily around this pub - The Fisherman’s Friends. Highly recommended you visit here - you will not be disappointed!

Always brilliant. Great simple food and even greater service from Elise. She’s attentive, has brilliant memory and a fantastic sense of humor we re-booked another meal purely because of her.

First of all I NEVER write reviews.... Arrived with a booking (just for a drink). Incredibly hostile greeting where they said there were no spaces till 845. We said that we just wanted a drink and would be happy to move. A lot of rude grumbling later we managed to get a seat on a table. Throughout our brief stay we heard the horrendous attitude they greeted people physically and on the phone. We had some of our party turn up for a key which we knew that was happening. They asked for our name and were turned away! Saying no ones here with that name... we then had to speak with the staff saying that we knew them. Only then did they allow our family to greet us so we could give them the key... I know Covid is about but such an unwelcome attitude doesn’t seem needed. Apart from that experience, the beer was fab and well priced!

Food was above the standard expected in all respects. To top it off, the cost was impressive too. Worth a visit - 6* if I could.
