What a beautiful area. was really bummed to get here and see that there were no tours I would have left to take the kids on a tour. We've never been inside a real lighthouse as a family before. Oh well just gives a reason to come back here again eventually. The weather was perfect today. The sun is shining the wind was still, couldn't have picked a better day to be up here on the bluff.

Gorgeous view of the ocean even though the lighthouse was closed. Plenty of parking however there are no guardrails or warnings of cliffs. They are numerous dangerous cliffs literally right of the parking area before warned.

We explored the lighthouse grounds in a dense fog. Very Scooby-Doo like experience. Worth the walk to and from the parking area. We even saw some deer who were more concerned with eating than with visitors. There was only one other couple exploring while we were there.

Take the time and 2 per person to do the tour. You'll hear the stories of the men and their families who lived in this harsh environment, the history of the lighthouse, and tour it. Even up to the lens where there are breathtaking views of the Oregon coast. Easy walk around the park. I do not recommend the tour for people with mobility issues- there are many and steep stairs.

Nice drive to a very scenic lighthouse. Be aware of the times they are open or not. Closed when we got there, but you can walk the 1/2 mile from the gate to the lighthouse. Also, several places nearby to enjoy trails and beaches. Definitely worth a stop...allow at least an hour.

Beautiful at the sunset time. Bring warm and windproofing clothes.

One of my favorite lighthouses to visit on the Oregon coast! I love that for only 2 you can climb up to the top to look at the lense, bulb, and views! The staff is very knowledgeable about the background of this lighthouse! A bit windy every time I've been here, but its the furthest west point in the continental united states! Please visit this lighthouse and don't forget to donate! They have quite the little gift shop set up too!

Beautiful place. Excellent volunteers full of knowledge. Go! You can see whales here too. There is a pod (is that right?) that live in the little cove next to the light house. It's a beautiful, little drive off the 101 not far and well worth it. We've been twice in 5 years and I would go back again. It's located about a half hour south of Bandon. There is also a really nice state campground here. Definitely recommend this day trip.
