My partner decided to have a surprise birthday getaway trip for me, and invited our "safe six" this past weekend. While the space was very clean and the views were unbeatable, we were very disappointed with what we were promised in terms of beds. We ultimately booked extra space which was another 250 on top the original 850 with the promise of a queen pullout in the downstairs unit (we made it clear that this was to avoid having two people needing to sleep in the upstairs living room). When we arrived, the pullout was NOT a pullout, and could only sleep one person when folded up (almost a type of futon but without bottom support to be an actual pullout. Half of the bed was just dragging on the floor and not supported). When my partner contacted the property manager via email and asked for access to another unit that had an actual bed, we received radio silence. He also attempted to call him over the weekend twice (we were also promised a landline that wasn't there) and was met with silence again. When we finally got in contact on Monday, we were told that there was nothing that could be done regarding the fee, but that they would look into the problems we brought up. This is unfortunate and given the great experiences other friends have had at Handsome Dan's (in terms of price and enough beds for the guests) we were pretty displeased with how things were handled. We were told the combined units would sleep 10, and we only had 8 of us. This is not factual, nor reflective of advertisement.
Had a great time staying in a beautiful cabin here. Well stocked with everything we needed, clean, and so serene. Highly recommend you visit!
Loved our stay at Cabin 17 “French Girls Lair” Good layout with all the basics you’d need. Loved the location close to many beautiful beaches and hikes.
Great set of cottages all individual owned and rented out by Handsome Dan. Stayed 2 nights in the Cedar box which felt nice and private and in the woods with a fire pit and beautiful porch. Also stayed 2 nights in the Tiltin Hilton which had lovely views of the water and a great deck to sit out on including a fire pit too! Would definitely go back!
I loved it at the cabin so cozy it definitely was a great surprise from my boyfriend were definitely going to come back for another amazing time of outdoors and relaxing
Very nice place in a great little cabin village.
Fantastic beautiful, clean,well equipped cabins . Easy quick get away for Island people no Ferry no borders, amazing piece of Heaven in our own backyard. This is our 3td time going to Handsome Dan's in Port Renfrew. Do your self a favour and go for a Staycation on our gorgeous island!!! Support Local!!
