Has the atmosphere of being run by an old philosophy professor who got frustrated with the bureaucracy of University life and instead opened a cafe/bar to cater for the intellectual European Exchange student crowd. Grungy music plays while old arty black and white movies are projected above the bar. The presumed owner seems to put his pen in the top of a take away coffee cup, after a few moments assisting his staff, he walks outside with said cup and pen, to sit alone and scribble on a newspaper. Is he sketching or doing the crossword, it’s not clearly understood, simply entertaining to be a clientele of the bar and ponder the aforementioned.

Just past by and had some white wine, it was reely nice and a good price, so a great place to visit if you feel like meeting friends for a glass of wine or beer. Or do like me go solo and just enjoy a nice glass of wine.

One of my favorite places in Porto - to read a book/work/meet friends for some wine/coffee. Has a soul....just beautiful!!!!

Been there a thousand times. Lately the staff has been taking customers for granted and and their manners are getting worse. The owner doesn't greet you or serve you the way he used to do. The best staff members they had don't work there anymore. A guy there only serves you if you no pretty girls are in sight. If you are a dude, you'll have to wait until he's finished flirting. Appalling attitude and manners from that fellow.

Gorgeous atmosphere, excellent sound track. Came here with my sister on holiday in the evening & it was packed with locals. Came again in the morning. Coffee was pretty acceptable even by Australian standards. Barman spoke good English and told us how the establishment used to be a bookshop & still sells books. Love it!! Definitely coming back later.
