Nice if you're visiting Porto and really need to (shortly) see or feel the beach. Nice walk by the sea. Visited in February.. Would head south for nicer beaches in summer.

Best visited just after a significant storm for most dramatic wave action. We were there just after Tropical Storm Leslie, and the ocean was spectacular. Be sure to visit the lighthouse area and get properly soaked.
Beautiful beach with huge rocks, with promenade and wonderful sunsets. Worth to see if you are in Porto. Very convenient for bicyclists.
Beautiful views but to be in the water is not safe enough, as too many broken shells are around.
Nice beach on the Foz, surrounded by restaurants, stores, cafes and with an amazing view of the lighthouse.
Yes the ocean. I could not visit Porto without seeing the ocean So much in the way of bridges, the parks, I sat on the rocks watching the western horizon and drinking a cold one as I did before in Essaouira Maroc. Portugal has left a strong impression on me. Ourigo Beach was a joy and the walk there along the Douros E tre, Ely pleasant. View of the city. South East and west breathtaking.
Stoney Beach. Maybe not as comfortable as Matosinhos Beach but less busy.
The atmosphere of being by the Atlantic Ocean is fantastic.
