Interactive museum of the Portuguese discoveries. There is a lot of information without any of the tedium of other museums with sections on boat building, living conditions on board and historic figures all well presented in multilingual interactive displays, culminating in a voyage in small boats around the discovered lands. Excellent for adults and children. Highly recommended.

This is a mixture of a museum and a theme park! Lots if interesting things to discover about Portuguese history all over the world. You will find explanations in many languagues, too. After passing the exhibition, you are taken on a ride in a boat - passing through centuries and regions of the world wherf Portuguese seafarers have been.

What attracted me to this place was the boat trip, which was great. The rest of the museum contained a lot of written information regarding Portugal and many of its important personalities. For me it was a little bit too much info in the second room

Fun and entertaining look at the exploration history of Portuguese explorers. Personally I would like more static information rather than having to scroll through digital displays, would be difficult when the museum was busy. Loved the boat ride

This is quite expensive, 2 adults and 1 child for 30 euros, which they say includes a discount. There are 4 rooms to visit, they explain or show the age of discoveries, the interior of a ship and what if carried and a shipyard. They are ok, but more interactivity like playing games would help beyond the touch screens which just provide info. The boat ride is the key part, it is arranged nicely, but as you watch and listen you wonder if really those nations would not have been better off (Portuguese built mines, gave them guns and ammo and others not mentioned here). Nice, but definetely overpriced for us.
