A very nice place to visit, to learn or just to get out of the crowded city and just enjoy the fresh air. The dock yard is really worth visiting and also a good idea is to get the boat trip that takes around Portsmouth's harbour, the tour guide is nice and answers all your questions. Good place for family getaways and school day trips.

Great day out for the whole family. Can be a bit pricey but plenty to entertain. There's lots of walking to be done so bring comfy shoes. Also, if it's raining and there's a queue to get in to the attractions you will get wet so a good raincoat is recommended. There are shops and restaurants on site.

Really love this place and well worth the price we paid for the Ultimate Explorer ticket. There is way too much to see in just one day so happy that we have a ticket that's valid for a year. Will definitely be going back. Great day out if you have kids as well. Would definitely recommend this place for a visit. Just a pity that some of the places are currently not accessible due to the pandemic.

We brought the explorer ticket to the historic dockyard museum. We'll worth it, gives you entry to 10 exhibits, Victory, Warrior, Mary Rose, harbour boat trip, submarine museum, great staff some in character on warrior, due to covid nice and quiet. You need two days to do it all a massive place, also the latest aircraft carrier HMS prince of Wales in Dock really enjoyed and will return to see the rest as ticket lasts for a year.

A great visit. If felt very COVID secure with small numbers and helpful guides. The audio guided tour of Victory is great, as is the opportunity to walk through the dry Dock underneath. I regretted purchasing the three attractions ticket and saving 5 rather than the all attractions visit as M33 which is new to me was quite a short view with little interpretation in the upper deck (eg the gun turrets were covered). Its not a cheap day out but definitely worth it. If you are able to return more than once in a year I would definitely recommend the all attractions ticket.

Now open (27th Aug 2020)although the ferry to Gosport not running today. Very friendly knowledgeable staff, some dressed up and in character. Good cafe, clean toilets lots of hand sanitisation points. Great day out.right next to train station. Even saw 2 air craft carriers that were in the docks and saw 1 being turned around by the tugs

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard provides a wealth of information and some of the best maritime history on offer. Be sure to visit the HMS Victory and the Mary Rose. Could easily spend two or more days exploring the dockyards. And surrounding highlights. Plenty of pubs and bars close by for food and drink after.

Really good place to visit. We went there specifically for the Mary Rose museum and that was really good. A lot of effort has been put into enable visitors to clearly see the timber structure as well many recovered items. If you use satnav make sure you put in Portsmouth historic dock and not the Mary Rose museum, you end up being given a route that attempts to take you through closed security gates, quite a distance from the historic dockyard. I parked at the Wickham car park and that was reasonably priced and close to the dockyard.
