Good station, plenty of parking space, served by bus routes, ticket office and machines, frequent trains.
Cuffley sits on the London Moorgate to Hertford / Letchworth / Stevenage line. TFL’s Oyster cards are now valid all the way up to Hertford North on a pay as you go basis. Although Cuffley is outside the Travelcard zone, TfL’s daily price cap applies, which makes using Oyster significantly cheaper. Otherwise, paper tickets into London cost between \u003c7 for an off-peak single up to almost 20 for a peak train and day travel card. There are two 24h ticket machines, both of which accept cards and contactless. There is also a ticket office which seems to close at around 5pm. Trains are approximately every 20mins peak and 30mins off peak. The last trains are around midnight. Parking is per day and is between 5.20 peak and 3.50 after 10am. The southbound (London) platform has flat wheelchair access from the car park but the northbound does not. There is no taxi rank and only at peak times are there cabs around. Best book in advance if you can or Uber does operate in the area. A new coffee shop called Leo’s has opened up in the old waiting room block on the southbound platform. The coffee is good and Engin, the proprieter, is a lovely guy. There is also a good place just a minute away under the bridge - the Orchid Café - also run by nice people... Come to Cuffley, it’s great!
Generally a reliable line in and out of London during the week. However, the lack of trains at weekends is a pain. The car park is busy but rarely completely full. Not sure if they take Oyster cards yet but the readers there have seldom worked in my experience. The station staff however are pretty slow in the mornings and rarely show any personal care or urgency.
Trains infrequent after 8am weekdays and no contactless entrance but good station
