Be prepared for surprise costs - read the fine print if you use them for relocation! I used Gerson Relocation for an overseas move and they unassembled my furniture in London and on the receiving end in the US, refused to reassemble it. Had I be told this would be the case, I would have asked them to move the furniture as is or not moved it at all. I had to pay a handyman to reassemble it. In my 8 international moves, I have never had this issue before. They also charged me 150 USD for an 'elevator fee' on the receiving end as they say their typical moves only include ground floor delivery. They said 'that a building with an elevator is not considered normal access.' Also, they got a parking ticket, even though I arranged parking for them and Gerson asked me to pay it, despite it being their fault. Go with another company that doesn't nickel and dime you and gives you end to end service.

Moving is always a stressful and craze filled time. Moving from one country to another takes it to another level of unknowns and prospective issues. We feel fortunate to have had Stephen Twilley, of Gerson Relocation, as our destination freight forwarder. Stephen was professional, efficient and informative from the start. He is a nice guy and very easy to communicate with - he provided me with the GPS site to track the ship my household goods came in on when I joked about amazon tracking. He was very helpful and attentive, checking in to be sure we were keeping to our timeline, providing information we needed as we progressed through and helping us to understand the shipping and customs process in the U.K. He was responsive to our situations and immediately gave us the phone number we needed to check on the status of our TOR (transfer of residence) after being told there was a month long back log. He paid attention to the details and knew what was important to us when the movers were preparing to make the delivery to our home; he made sure the crew supervisor understood that I wanted to keep my freshly cleaned carpet, well, freshly cleaned. In a country to country move that was fraught with mess ups, Stephen was one positive experience - always reliable, prompt and caring. He is an asset to Gerson Relocation.
