Best fish and chips in town. I had the best haddock and chips today. the batter Was so thin and crispy it was like having crisps. I’m definitely a regular now as I live nearby definitely will be feeding my belly with healthy fish 3-4 times a week. Lovely curry sauce and even had a free homemade tarter sauce delivered to my house so happy they started delivery. Thank you very much to all staff @ HELMSMAN fish and chips

This place is the greatest taste if you’re looking for a traditional fresh British fish and chips. Everything was made to order and it was all “fresh” which you hardly see nowadays. There really is a difference between eating a fresh cod and one that has been fried 3-4 times on the day. All the sides & sauces were also homemade which is a massive plus from me. The staff were very friendly and at times I felt overly looked after. The manager Johnny also greeted us and asked for feedback. Being a local I can say that Hellmsman is a great addition to the area with very reasonable prices. I highly recommend you try this place out.

I remember when a large cod was big. I mean when you order a large cod, it's more the size of a regular which is the reason for a dropped star. Otherwise this is the best local chippy. They now do local deliveries but charge 2.50
