Was promised a call back twice which never happened, I phoned at the end of the day to see whether they had been able to provide a quote on a modified vehicle - they had but never called me with it. I accepted the quote because by this time it was so late in the day, it was my only option as I was on the way to collect the car. I was told they did not have time to generate a quote with my girlfriend on there but I could call back at a later date to add her or cancel the policy. A few days later I called back to add my girlfriend I’m but was quoted a huge additional premium which I was not expecting, she does not make my other cars more expensive. Thankfully another broker was able to offer a cheaper quote for my partner and I than Sky had quoted for just me so I opted to cancel the policy and sss charged 50 to do so! I challenged this as just days prior I was told adding my girlfriend on would be quick and easy and if for any reason they could not do it, I could cancel but they refused to reimburse me. It cost me 50 for less than a weeks insurance when the premium for the whole year was only 260 or so. I have NEVER been charged to cancel a policy in the first 14 days let alone when the advisor on the phone gave the impression there would be no charge. I do still have another vehicle insured with sky that I will not be renewing with them under any circumstance. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. There’s plenty of brokers out there offering the same service which I also have vehicles insured with that value your business far more.

I spoke with Alex Kinrade from Sky Insurance and I must say, I enjoyed our conversation and the outcome. It is extremely rare that one comes across a passionate, professional, understanding and patient insurance representative such as yourself. You have completely redefined my car insurance renewal experience and I would unreservedly recommend Alex and Sky to everyone, modified or not. Besides, the insurance quote was very competitive and best of all - tailored to my needs and budget. I am impressed with the professional service and overall experience of renewing my insurance - so much so that I decided to move to Sky and not renew with my current insurer of 4 years. I have also been assured of a great quote for my second car, which I will be moving over to Sky in a few months' time.

If I could offer a lower rating, I would. After 1 month they were uncompetitive quoting a new vehicle change so upon cancellation they considered a charge of 40% of my annual fee for cancelling was 'A gesture of goodwill'. After complaining, a manager called to shrug his shoulders and tell me if i didnt like it i could complain to the Financial Ombudsman - Which i have done. Sky, you should be disgusted with yourselves.

Would not recommend this insurance for any first time drivers, the black box score seems to have a mind of its own, the first few weeks it was at a good score, then drastically started to go down even though i am not someone who drives fast or brakes or accelerates harshly, they said that it does not have a curfew but my time of day score brought down my overall score so i don't understand how this can work. Any miles that you do not use you do not get the money back for, but any miles you go over you have to pay in full for this, and the extra miles are expensive and you are not aware at the beginning how expensive they actually are. Finally finished my year of insurance with them and have rang 4 times and waited 25/30 minutes each time, i am currently on hold to them now and have been waiting 40 minutes so that they can send me my 1 year no claims certificate! Not happy with the service provided at all! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
