I met Dr Silfkin, an infectious disease doctor, while hospitalized in the Covid-19 ward in mid-June of 2020. We spoke for just a few minutes as she was making her rounds but I had a follow-up Telemed appt w/ her this morning. She made sure to answer all my questions about the possible cause of my symptoms (could have been Covid, Lyme, or both as I'd had a tick bite a couple months earlier and also had tested positive for Covid about 3 weeks earlier). When I asked her about the tests that had already been done, she had already reviewed all my hospital records prior to our visit and answered with patience, clarity, and compassion. When I asked her for her opinion shared it from a background of 20 years experience, but with humility. Dr Slifkin was eager to be helpful and respectful of my questions and doubts about the cause of the symptoms I have been experiencing. I felt completely satisfied with our online visit. I have scheduled a follow-up appt for 2 weeks out. Dr Slifkin urged me to jot down any questions that I had between now and then so that she could address them and also asked that I had the results of my labs since being discharged from the hospital faxed over from my PCP. Overall, I would say that Dr Slifkin was kind, respectful, thorough, and honest. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone facing the challenges of infectious diseases.

The week we did need to reach Dr. Slifkin, we couldn’t, BUT that was because she was covering for at least 3 other doctors who were out of office. She had to ‘triage’ her efforts and responses. I blame that on however the practice schedules their doctors’ vacations, not the doctor left holding the fort. When we met with Dr. Slifkin, she was professional, patient, ensured we didn’t leave with any unanswered questions.
