Hidden in Poway is a serene path that is known for peace and tranquility. Dog walkers and hikers enjoy the easy path through the valley and along the creek bank. Dramatic rocky hills to the east occasionally have hawks hunting. The valley trees house redheaded woodpeckers. The signs warn of rattlesnakes and mountain lions, but you are more likely to see deer. Enjoy.

Pretty easy scenic trail. Stroller friendly as well. Thank goodness for a bathroom in the middle of the trail (not very well maintained and has no doors but still better than nothing)!

Often crowded, but nice mix of shaded and exposed trail. Can do a1200' climb to Ramona Dam if want, or just relax with a nice walk in the trees. ALWAYS be alert for puma and snakes, but very rarely an issue.

We use Blue Sky to go to Mount Woodson, it adds an extra 4 miles but we’ll worth it. Hike comes out to about 11 miles instead of 7ish if you start at Poway park. Blue sky is nice and flat, make a right at the intersection and it’ll take you to the lake then make the left and it’ll take you to mount Woodson. Parking is free and there’s a potable potty and hand washing station. It gets cold in the winter! One time is was 36 degrees when we hiked!
