Beware when buying electronics!!!!! They will not let you return things that don't work. I recently bought a tv/monitor there. I looked at it to see what hook ups were on the back and at first glance, it looked to be a VGA hook-up. I was told that it had been tested but beyond that the person who was at the counter didn't know anything about it. I was told that if it didn't work I could return it. However, when I got it home, it was not a VGA port and there was no where to hook up the computer. It didn't work with antenna TV either, so I took it back the next day. Most of the people there were really nice and have always been very nice, but the "manager" person was very adamant that she wouldn't take it back! I have been shopping at that thrift store for YEARS and I have spent a lot of money there, and I have always been treated kindly, so I was surprised that this lady- who I have never seen there before- was being so hard-assed....She finally relented, I'm sure because what I was saying made sense, and gave me a store credit along with a very loud and much unwarranted and unnecessary lecture about how they were "doing this out of the kindness of their hearts". I wasn't treated like the valuable customer that I am and I was made to feel like a child in front of all the other customers who were present in the store at the time-- I am almost 60 years old! This woman was loud and rude and she really embarrassed me. She needs to start treating people like valued customers, not like they are "letting" you come into the store out of the "kindness of their hearts". I would give less stars but I have always had good experiences in this store. So I am giving it 4 stars only because that lady was rude to me!
Donate or shop for good causes . Proceeds are helping people in Africa and helping so many others near and far.
Great staff. They always make me feel welcome and the prices definitely beat the local Salvation Army and Goodwill.
There are 3 good church-run thrift stores in this "mall" in Poway, and this is about the best of the 3. They almost always have something, the prices are right, and the volunteer staff always treats you with respect whether you're spending 25c, 300.00, or donating something worthwhile.
