This is one huge place, didn't look like much at first but it's more than meets the eye. The collection features works by mostly Polish authors, second school to be represent is the German one, some Italian, Spanish and Dutch/Flemish as well. Most of the paintings don't have any explanation, just tags, with the important exception of Polish paintings from late 18th century, and it was my reason to visit. The contemporary art section looks really good but not my cup of coffee

As a foreign visitor I was incredibly impressed with this museum - maybe it was a lucky day or something but entrance was free, the museum is huge and it's not too busy with people. Great diversity, great selection.
Excellent temp exhibition: M like Masters!
Good for art lover lovers with a lot of painting. I liked the most was the antiques section with statues of Julius Caesar , Brutus and Mummies of ancient Egypt.
Good collection of paintings. The only Monet painting in Poland. So, if you are a fan of Monet, definitely check. Try to come on weekdays, cause on Sunday there was a huge line that didn't move.
The centrepiece of this museum is perhaps a carefully restored Monet that had been recovered after its theft years ago. It was shocking to hear how the thief had just cut the painting out of its frame and then left it unmounted for the years after. The museum also has a decent collection of Polish artists in addition to other European ones. Entrance is free on Saturdays and definitely worth a visit.
Free on Saturday! New part is well connected with the old part.
Great place to visit in poznań, modern art is quite a big part of museum
