I have recently bought a brand new house in Clitheroe, Lancashire Overall it is a beautiful house but Applethwaites up to press have not been very professional. We have owned the house since July 2020 and up to now (January 2021) we have not had any of the ‘snags’ addressed. The worst being the drains and flooding on the drive. Applethwaites seem to think they are not responsible for this but I beg to differ. Being a new build they are responsible, as the drive and access to the rear are not fit for purpose. Once the drive is covered in over two inches of water. access cannot be gained to your car or down the side of the house without the use of wellingtons, which in everyone’s option is totally unacceptable and is the responsibility of the builder. Come on Applethwaites sort this out and fit the correct type of drains

I have a loverly architechtural designed house but the builders are deliberately going against their own survayers recomendations. The problem with flooding has been ignored and now Applethwaites/Ericwrights are blaming the residents for the flooding. Should you consider buying one of these properties please be aware you will need an amount in reserve to instigate legal proceedings as all requests for remedial work from residents, are advised to contact their solicitors by Applethwaites/Ericwrights
