Bleasdale Circle appears to me to have been constructed in a very carefully thought out quiet location and really has quite an aura about it. Whilst stood in the inner circle I turned around to find that a lone ruminating sheep had appeared out of nowhere very near and fearlessly staring at me when they have always run away.

A peaceful place where you can hear a pin drop. The place looks well kept and access is reasonable. You can park at the church and its a short walk up a lane and across a field. I think its popular with pagans,I saw some offerings and including ribbons tied to a tree and animal bones. Relaxing.
Nice little walk
Following storms, many of the trees have been cut back so you get a better impression of the circle, though the concrete posts that replaced the wooden ones (now in the Harris Museum in Preston), don't give an idea of hight
Deeply historic feel to it. A shame that the local authority doesn't take more care and maintenance over such a site of local and national importance. Definitely worth a visit.
