This place used to be awesome . But that was years ago. On a recent return visit , not knowing of the sad decline this place has taken - I was expecting the same as I had experienced years previously- I could not have been further from the reality . The place was dirty The selection of food was poor and despite the time of day being sensible - very small bowls of left overs were pretty much the whole deal confirming the food was not fresh and was likely microwaved from yesterday . However my suspicions were proved wrong when I eventually dared to try some of the offerings . The food was not from yesterday - I would guess longer . Everything was over cooked , dry , shriveled , congealed and inedible . Clearly this food had been warmed up several times and had been kept warm for a very very long time . I couldn't eat it and left very very disappointed . The prices are high for the quality you receive . The service from staff was ok i suppose . To sum the food up here - think Chinese school dinner when it's your turn to be on second or third sitting . Limited choice of old left overs in a dirty canteen . Sorry . This is a no go .

I haven't been there for a few years but at the time it was an excellent place! Me and my sister went in there often. They also have a policy where they charge you if you leave food on the plate... a very sensible policy in my opinion.

After years of taking my family I have to agree it has totally gone down hill and has now past the cheap n cheerful. The food area is grubby, the salad is stale e.g. dry curly cucumber I found a small crab like creature in my food and my daughter was sick for 3 days after eating chicken nuggets n curry sauce. The toilets are very unhygienic and smell.

Me and my family went last month and it was really nice the food was great and the staff was so friendly to my 2 year old. Excellent service and good value

Shockingly bad. Terrible service, very limited food selection. Rice undercooked, chicken tasted like it belonged on the sole of a shoe, pancakes shared the texture and flavour of greaseproof paper. The only grand thing about the grand buffet is the grand pricetag that comes at the end, whilst you are chaperoned like a criminal to the bar to pay. Stay away

I have been several times over the years and always enjoyed it. Great tasty selection always well cooked. However the last few times it was busy and very packed.

Unclean table, felt rushed, didn't have any time to see any prices the toilets were in bad condition, the food wasn't brilliant, I can't think of anything positive to say. Me and my girlfriend just generally had a bad time overall.

This was my first time eating at a Chinese restaurant and was really looking forward to it, but man what a let down it was. I went with two of my friends and while the selection of food was nicely varied, the chicken was really dry in the curries, as was the duck, and the honey pork I tried was hard to chew and separate (a bit got caught in my throat at one point and thought I was gonna end up choking on it....). What topped it all though was that both of my friends ended up with hairs in their food (which were clearly too long to be theirs, seeing how they both were boys and had short hair), which was quite off putting when you're eating food :( there was even a hair in a dish on the table. Sorry but I think the hygiene/cleanliness standards at Buffet @ Preston need revising....wouldn't go again.
