At the end of August we hired the Piccolo for a week. Fabulous boat, extremely well furnished and equipped. A great week for winding down and enjoying the amazing Lancashire countryside. We walked down the Glasson Locks and bought fish from the Smoke House. We also went up to Hest Bank and walked along the coast. If you love real ale try the Cross Inn at Hest Bank, great publican and locals. If you want a luxury barge holiday then this is it. I would certainly book again and recommend this company to anyone. Thank you to Eamonn and Elaine for making this such a special holiday and Eamonn for showing us how he could fish he keys out of the canal with a magnet :-)

Just returned from a fabulous week aboard Glissando. We have hired quite a few narrowboats on various canals over the last few years and can honestly say this is the best boat we've had. Everything was spotlessly clean and the owners had taken great care to ensure the safety of guests during the pandemic. The boat was fitted to a high standard with good quality accessories provided. The king size bed was extremely comfortable and so nice to have a decent shower onboard. It is obvious that Eamonn and Elaine are very proud of their boats and are keen to ensure that their guests have a lovely holiday. The boat is beautiful to look at and a pleasure to navigate and attracted a lot of interest along the way. The Lancashire countryside is stunning and we would particularly recommend a walk down the Glasson Arm to Glasson Dock and a walk around Morecambe Bay from Hest Bank.

September 2020. Really enjoyed our week aboard Duck Island Boat Company's wide beam Piccolo. A show stopper on the canal attracting many admiring comments along the way. Lovely, well equipped and comfortable boat (rarely offered to this luxurious standard). Some nice touches also including fresh flowers, bottle of wine, biscuits etc. Eamon and Elaine are very friendly and accommodating owners who welcome you and ensure you know how to operate the boat. The canal is scenic although somewhat shallow in parts - 'A must do', is experience the passage over the Lune viaduct. In normal times we would have ventured from the boat a lot more (somewhat restricted by Covid) as both of retirement age, but made the most of the boat). Highly recommend. Best wishes to Eamon and Elaine coping extremely well in what has to be a very challenging year for them. Russell & Lynda.

Lovely holiday on a very nice boat. We've hired many times over the years and the bed on this boat is the best we've had (king-size double). Also full-size shower and well laid-out arrangement. It's easy to isolate in these Covid times, no locks on the Lancaster canal and several places to eat out, outdoors. Eamon and Elaine couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming.
