My wife and I ordered our wedding cake from this lady. We had 2 in depth consultation appointments regarding the style, colours etc., months in advance of the wedding. She came across very well and was very interested in us and our ideas. Based on our brief, she did us a very professional artistic sketch, showing us what our cake would look like, and it portrayed exactly what we had had in mind, and had described to her. The price was 300, which is a lot of money for a cake, but she sold herself on being able to produce the type of cake that you couldn’t buy in a shop. When it came to the wedding day, the cake arrived in the morning (delivered by her husband who we had never met, perhaps because she was either too embarrassed or ashamed to present it) - and it was absolutely nothing like the breif we had given or the sketches she had drawn up. Unfortunately, it wasn’t even as though it was a good cake but not to our style, it was just a terrible, half-finished looking cake. It was actually no better than what you would find on a supermarket shelf. There was also some writing that we requested be on the cake, and it seemed by the look of it as though this had been scribbled on at the last minute. We had a wonderful wedding, although any memory of that wedding cake is quite sour, and it caused my wife to be upset on her wedding day which is the worst part.
