The ice was thick enough on one of the ponds to walk on again haha, be very careful though

New to the area. Had a lovely, winter, evening walk. A compact walk, though was calm and perfect for a stroll.

Brilliant! My family fought in the late 60s early 70s to keep fields adjacent to the grounds of what was the judge's house, Hurst Grange, the stable block remaining, (the house was demolished 1926ish when Preston Rural District Council took ownership of that land), and the coachman's House on Hill Road, the fields south of Hurst Grange, north of the Preston Southport railway line. There were plans for building all over those fields. All the green space in Penwortham was being devoured for housing as now exists south of what was that railway line and all the way from Broad Oak Lane to Howick, and many other fields in Penwortham. The open space is INVALUABLE for the community to enjoy particularly in lockdown. We'll done Daddy and friends!

Great park for a walk and play with kids. Many ‘hidden’ areas & paths to explore.

Beautiful park, gorgeous in autumn. You can stick to the well maintained, accessible paths, or forge your own way through the woods - you'll find little creeks, open fields, marsh ponds and lots of wildlife :)
