Best chinese I've had for a long time
Me and the missus have been eating here regularly for over a year. Even brought the family over on two occasions. Every time we ate here we were more than happy with the quality of food, staff and the restaurant itself. After seeing the few negative reviews, I've decided to clear a few things up. What's on offer is unlike the food you'd get from a cantonese takeaway as it's the type of food you'd actually eat if you went to the Schezuan province of China. You don't go for the deep fried chicken balls and chips (although you can if you wish), it's the stir fried beef in black bean sauce, the schezuan style sea bass, the chicken with cashew nuts and other food you'd eat in China where Panda Cool has its appeal. And what's more, the flavours are all there and the way each dish is professionally cooked means you dont get that awful groggy feeling from eating deepfried takeaway food riddled with MSG and other salts. TL;DR It may not be everyone's cup of tea, especially if you go in (or order to takeaway) expecting spring rolls and prawn toast, but Panda Cool is an unexpected gem in Preston where a Chinese restaurant with true Schezuan flavours is hard to come by. The food is a must try for fans of real, homecooked-style Chinese food where the taste is so authentic you can fool yourself that you're actually in Schezuan. Will definitely keep going back.
Great food. Lovely service.
One of the worst Chinese places I do not recommend. Thought I would try for the first time as I love Chinese food and was hoping for it to be lovely. The prices were high like in good restaurant which I thought would mean the food will be amazing . My boyfriend ordered sliced pork belly with chilli sauce , the meat was too thin and not of quality and so the vegetables tasted really weird there wasn't even much sauce either. The chinese chicken curry sauce was nice however the chicken was sooooooo soft ,minging .. felt weird eating it! The rice was also really dry and powdery ... Also got a Chinese tea and the mugs given had dust inside and little hairs , not a very clean place!
